Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player secured his maiden championship for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents his maiden title following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from spring of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to create a third set.
The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
